Another rained out weekend for softball…..
This last weekend, Paityn’s games were cancelled AGAIN!!!! Saturday was absolutely beautiful then Sunday we woke up to dark gray rain clouds and that ground already covered in puddles. I was hoping it wasn’t that bad in Hillsboro, but apparently it was worse. Teams that played in Newberg and Sherwood were able to play, but not us.
I was able to make Paul and the kids a BIG breakfast and then be lazy until Paul left for work. I enjoy having a day that I can just be lazy, but two weekends in a row is just way too much for me!!!
I’m ready for softball!!!!

Maddux and the Cedarwall Girls!!!
Today Maddux was able to spend the day at the Cederwalls home.
Lillee and Gracee have been wanting to spend some time with Maddux and so we have arranged that Kylee would Watch Maddux for a couple hours on Fridays. This would give a good amount of time for the kids to play and spend time together without driving Kylee totally batty!!!!
Maddux loves the girls and the girls love Maddux!!!!

What Do You Think????
Last Saturday, before the down poor started in Newberg I drug the kids outside for a quick “photo shoot”.
The last few times I have come home from work there had been some train cars that look pretty new and close to the road. I thought it would be a cute Christmas photo of the kids.
After Paul left for work I told the kids to get jeans and a white shirt on and get into the car!!! Of course I heard nothing but complaining from “the princess” (Paityn) and Maddux was in the car dressed before I could even turn around. He didn’t care where or what we were doing, he was ready!!! I drove to where the train was and pulled over to the side of the road and parked. Maddux saw the train and couldn’t wait to get up on it, Paityn on the other hand was scared we would get in trouble.
We ended up only getting a few photos taken, but hopefully we can go back this Saturday (when there is projected to be sun) and take a few more.

To much RAIN for the 2nd Sunday of “Fall Ball”
The rain has started already in Oregon. It had rained so much that the games were cancelled this last Sunday.
I did have a chance to get some things completed around the house though. Laundry, cleaning my floors, and even got to the grocery store!!!
The kids and I also baked cookies. Well I should say...addux helped me and Paityn just kept eating them!!! Maddux and I made both peanut butter and chocolate chips cookies. I'm getting much better at baking the chocolate chip cookies. Not close to his late aunt Patty, but at least they are edible.
I hope the weather is better this next weekend!!!

The Girls Did Great!!!
This was the first weekend of “Fall Ball” and the girls did great.
Paityn’s new team had two games yesterday and they ended up winning both of them with the same score….11-1.
The first game started at 12:15 PM, they played Blaze ’98. Paityn started playing off in a new position…Short Stop. She did great!!! I could tell she was a little nervous, she hates to make mistakes or let the team down. I think this was the perfect team to start off at Short Stop with. She only really had one play and she made it look easy! She also got a hit and ended up scoring too.
The second game started at 1:45 PM and this game was against the Cardinals. I’m not exactly sure where they are from. Paityn started this game at 2nd, since they were moving girls around in different positions working on different things. She didn’t have that many plays at 2nd, but did get the final out when bases were loaded in the 4th inning. Paityn ended up getting a hit and walk in that game, both times she scored.
Overall, I think the girls had fun and that is what it is all about, especially during “Fall Ball”.

Paityn’s 1st School Dance!!!
Friday night was Paityn’s 1st school dance and she was excited!!!
Remembering back to my school dances and my dad giving me a “bad time” every time a dance was scheduled, It is now my time to give our daughter a “bad time”….
After a full day of school for Paityn, a full day of work for me, I came home to find Paityn outside playing with her neighborhood friends. She came inside to tell me about her day, ask “what is for dinner”, and started getting ready for the dance. She came downstairs and I said, “what are you all dressed up for”, she said, “I’m going to the dance Mom”. I asked her if she was going to dance with anyone and she said, “no”. So why are you going to a dance then? So I can visit and spend time with my friends, she said. Then I mentioned that she had been outside with her friends for the last hour. She just smiled!!!!
Paul and I just can’t believe how big she is. She is growing up to be a beautiful girl and is so kind hearted.
We love our “baby girl”!!!!

Maddux at Nana and Pops House!!!
Mom and dad wanted Maddux for one more week before he started back at school.
Maddux always has so much fun when he visits my mom and dads home in Eugene. They keep him busy and Maddux keeps them busy!!! This time of year is usually warm and days full of sunshine, but lately the weather has been a little cool and some days full of rain (yuck).
Maddux and dad were caught sleeping a couple times!!!!

Back to School!!!!
Tuesday was the 1st day of school for Paityn as a 6th grader.
The days leading up to today have been crazier that ever…Besides everything we normally do we also had to get “the princess” ready to go back to school. Clothes, shoes, accessories weren’t the issue it was mainly her schedule.
Schedules were given out last Wednesday evening during the “Back to School” night, but we were unable to go due to softball practice. I told Paityn that we would be able to go the following day to pick it up and she was totally fine with that answer. Until…..I showed up at home on Thursday at 4:30 PM to find out that the office was already closed.
WOW!!!!
Did I hear about it all night!!!
I guess she had been getting calls and texts all day about her classes and everyone wanted to know if they had classes with her, but she kept telling everyone….”I don’t know what my classes are yet, my mom made me go to softball and I wasn’t able to get my schedule”. She would tell any of her friends that she was the one who actually wanted to go to softball.
So Friday morning we went down to the school, we were able to pick up her schedule, pick up her PE uniform, and get everything in her locker. She only had to open and close her locker about 10,000 times. Then I walked her around to each of her classrooms to show her wee the rooms were, we were even able to meet one of her teachers.
Even after all the drama by my “princess” I think everything worked out great. We were able to spend time going through everything with her so she felt comfortable and ready to start.

Ducks vs. New Mexico
Saturday was the 1st Oregon Duck football game
Unfortunately we didn’t get season tickets this year for the Ducks. With Paul working weekends and Paityn playing “Fall Ball”, we decided against getting the football tickets this year. Instead of watching the game at Autzen we watched it on TV. Not the same, but watching a 72-0 win was nice to watch!!!!
