This was Paityn’s last basketball tournament this season with Newberg.
This has been a really fun season…..Kept me and her busy, she learned a new sport, and spent a lot of fun time with her friends.
We headed to Lincoln City on Friday. Paul unfortunately has to work, so it will just be me and both kids. The weather isn’t supposed to be great, so I want to drive over Friday after school and work. Plus Paityn is only able to play games on Saturday since she has a mandatory softball practice on Sunday and she will also be practicing with another team. She may be picking up with a 14U softball team for a few tournaments. She is not happy about missing the last day of the tournament, but she does understand why we have to leave.
Friday night after we arrived the kids and I went and found Mo’s. This is a local favorite and there specialty is clam chowder (yummy)!!!! Mo's Chowder
We got back to our hotel room and Maddux got his jammies on and curled up right next to me and fell asleep. He had a slight fever and wasn’t feeling his best. Paityn went and found some of the other girls on the team and visited with them. I think they were just roaming from room to room, at one time they were all in our room. Poor Maddux slept through it all.
Saturday the girls played 3 games and won all 3 of them. They played great and really worked together as a team. Between games we were able to get some lunch and go down to the beach. The kids played and relaxed. The weather was beautiful and sunny.
By winning all 3 games on Saturday that meant they only had the championship game on Sunday to play. That made Paityn even more sad, but it was at the same time that softball practice was and we couldn’t make both things.
We had dinner with the team where Joe gave out nice plaques to all the girls. He has been a great coach and has helped Paityn learn the sport of basketball. Thank you Joe!!!
The team ended up winning their game on Sunday and received trophies.
Wonderful end to a great season!!!!!
