2010 USA/ASA Girls' Class A 12-Under Fast Pitch National Softball Tournament - Day #3 (Monday)

Practice Game and Opening Ceremonies…

Today the Panther’s had a practice game at Winslow Sports Park. They played a team from Atlanta Georgia called The Vipers. The first inning the Vipers went ahead of us 4-0. We slowly fought our way back to tie 6-6 by the end of the game. Our girls fought hard to come back!!!! Paityn played quite a bit this game....she played in left field, but only was able to hit once. She ended up striking out, but had a good at bat. She hit a couple off foul before she ended up striking out.

After the game we got some food and went back to the hotel for the girls to rest(although they swam, ran around, and played) the entire time.

We all met in the lobby of the hotel before "Opening Ceremonies". The girls were very excited and ready to start trading pins. Opening Ceremonies were very muggy. We parked and got out of the car and were attacked by players that wanted to “trade pins” with The Panther’s. Supposedly last year they unfortunately did not have pins to trade, so this year was especially exciting for them. The girls slowly made their way to the Indiana University Soccer Field where the ceremonies were going to take place. The only thing I told Paityn was….don’t come back with any Panther pins and have fun!!!! She did both…

After the ceremonies were completed we had a “team dinner” and then back to the hotel for the evening. One of Paityn’s teammates made her take a shower (thank the lord) so she could braid her hair.

Another day in Indiana is complete, getting ready for “pool play” tomorrow.
